On Saturday, Sundowns received an excellence award from Gauteng MEC Morakane Mosupye during the Gauteng Sports Awards held in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.
Head coach Jerry Tshabalala, who dedicated the award to club chairman Tlhopie Motsepe, told SABC Sport they would not rest on their laurels in the current season.
"We win titles through hard work and are prepared to double our efforts to clinch our fourth league title this year," said Tshabalala in an exclusive interview.
"It is just the beginning. We want to see ourselves competing in the Club World Cup against the best teams in the world. We still want to win more and dominate domestic and continental football.
"Our focus is on the league, and we want to win it again. The league paves the way for us to go and compete in the CAF Champions League.
"We want to do our best to defend our league title so that we can forge ahead with our plans."
Sundowns won the inaugural Champions League title in 2021 and were losing finalists in the 2022 edition.
The Brazilians are currently second on the log table, level on six points with University of Johannesburg after the opening two rounds of fixtures.
On Saturday, the reigning three-time league winners will face 10th-placed First Touch Academy at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane at 15:00.
