It’s been widely reported that the player is unsettled at Chloorkop following the departure of coach Rulani Mokwena, who had insisted on Lorch being signed this time last year from rivals Orlando Pirates for an undisclosed fee.
But with Mokwena now in North Africa at Wydad, regular minutes have been hard to come by for the 31-year-old.
Information gathered by the public broadcaster is that Sundowns would rather sell or agree a loan deal to Wydad than strengthen Kaizer Chiefs, who have expressed a strong interest in taking Lorch permanently.
The winger was also offered to Sekhukhune United, but it appears Babina Noko are not interested – and time will soon run out in the Premier Soccer League with the transfer window closing tonight.
Wydad, however, have until Friday to conclude any deal that could materialise following early discussions with The Brazilians due to their registration period having a longer deadline.
It’s believed The Red Castle would be keen to see Lorch revive his career with a coach that knows him so well from their Pirates days where he was crowned Footballer of the Year in May 2019.
But Wydad would have to sacrifice a foreign international slot to make way for the South African joining striker Cassius Mailula in the Botola Premier League.
Lorch has made 27 appearances for Sundowns in the year that he’s been at the club – most of them under Mokwena – and scored seven goals along with four assists.
