Man City's Rodri back training after ACL injury

Ballon d'Or winner Rodri has returned to individual training with Manchester City, offering hope for his potential comeback this season after suffering an ACL injury in September.

The Spanish midfielder was initially expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season following the knee injury he sustained during City's 2-2 draw with Arsenal on September 22. However, a video shared by City on their social media platforms showed Rodri back at the club's training ground, where he was seen participating in drills with the caption "on the road to recovery."

Rodri's absence has been significantly felt by Pep Guardiola's team. Without his leadership in midfield, City have fallen 20 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and were eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid earlier this month.

Rodri has set his sights on returning in time for the Club World Cup, which will kick off for City on June 18. However, Guardiola has stressed the importance of caution in the 28-year-old's recovery process.

"He's optimistic, but to be honest, I don't know,❠the City manager said last month. "An ACL injury is an ACL injury. I always believe that with long-term injuries, there's a period you must respect for the sake of the human body."

"The ACL is the same for every football player and athlete, so there's a necessary recovery time."

"The most important thing for Rodri now is to recover properly.â
