Man Utd likely to start Casemiro against Real Sociedad

Manchester United head into Thursday evening's Europa League clash against Real Sociedad with a severely depleted squad.

Injuries have ruled out goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, defender Luke Shaw, and midfielders Mason Mount and Chido Obi.

Additionally, Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte are ineligible, further limiting Ruben Amorim's options.

However, academy graduate Toby Collyer could be in contention for a place in the squad.

With United struggling in the bottom half of the Premier League and already eliminated from both domestic cup competitions, Amorim has turned his focus to the Europa League as the club's best route to securing Champions League football next season.

One key figure expected to feature is Casemiro. The 33-year-old Brazilian international, who has 75 caps for his country, played in United's FA Cup defeat to Fulham and started recent league matches against Tottenham and Everton.

With Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo unavailable, Casemiro is likely to retain his place in midfield.
