Gallants return to the top flight after being relegated in the 2022/23 campaign, in which they ended bottom of the 16-team log standings with 29 points from 30 matches.
This comes after Swallows placed their status up for sale over their financial difficulties, which earlier saw them cut the bulk of their squad who undertook illegal strike action over unpaid salaries.

"Following the final approval of the Premier Soccer League, (PSL) today, Marumo Gallants Football Club officially confirms the acquisition of Moroka Swallows Football Club," read a statement from Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, who further confirmed they will be based in Bloemfontein.
"Gallants will take over Swallows with immediate effect. The club also confirms that home games for the upcoming season will be played in Bloemfontein, Free State."
The Dube Birds will now cease to exist, with rumours suggesting Jomo Cosmos – who were relegated to the ABC Mostepe League in 2022/23 – could take up Gallants' Motsepe Foundation Championship status.
