Marcus Rashford may have struggled for form this season, but Micah Richards believes the Manchester United star is always on the cusp of hitting his stride.
Rashford scored in the Three Lions' 3-1 win over Italy in the Euro 2024 qualifiers on Tuesday, and Richards reckons it may represent a turning point in the forward's season.
The 25-year-old has only managed one goal and three assists in his 10 appearances for the Red Devils this term, but the Old Trafford faithful could find his recent international performance as a source of hope in a turbulent season for the club.
"That's the good thing about Rashford. He's been mediocre by his standards this season," Richards said on The Rest Is Football podcast.
"It always looks like things are going to happen for him, but it's not really happened for him at United, so far.
"In the game [against Italy] it looked like he was going to have another one of those performances where things were not going his way, but he can just come alive."
United will resume their Premier League campaign at Sheffield United on Saturday.
