Defender Vusi Sibiya has encouraged his teammates to remain resilient amidst the negative publicity surrounding the club.
Despite the challenges, the Soweto giants resumed training, and recent reports revealed that 22 players were expelled following a disciplinary hearing.
Thus development caught the attention of the South African Players Football Union (SAFPU), leading them to take the matters to the Dispute Resolution Chamber earlier this week.
''As players we just need to be strong - because this is our job. We have to stay motivated because we want to be in the top 4. We have goals we want to achieve, we have to try by all means to bounce back,'' said Sibiya.
In the Nedbank Cup round of 32 draw, Moroka Swallows were pitted against Platinum City Rovers from the Motsepe Foundation Championships.
Sibiya expresses his hope that the team can find redemption by progressing through the Ke Yona cup competition and, in doing so, leave behind the off-field challenges they have been facing.
''Preparing for the Nedbank Cup, I think every player or teams - as we play we play to win trophies. So I will be happy if we win this trophy, so that we make our fans happy and redeem ourselves''
''It's been long Swallows has won a trophy, we just have to fight and win the trophy,'' Sibiya added.
Coach Steve Komphela serves as both a motivator and a tactician, and Sibiya notes that he, along with his teammates, is gaining valuable knowledge under his guidance.
''I've learned a lot from the coach because he always motivates us. He's not only a coach but he inspires us, he's been in the game for too long,'' he concluded.
