Ngcobo, who has been out of action for a very long time due to injuries, will see his current contract ending in June next year.
There have been reports that he has been offered a new deal at Chiefs, speaking to the media at the club’s base in Naturena on Thursday, he has no doubts about the colours he wants to wear.
"Obviously, I have a contract with Kaizer Chiefs and I'm working hard and I'm focusing on the next game to get three points and I can say my blood is gold and black," Ngcobo said.
It’s been six years since Ngcobo was promoted to the first team at the age of 18, now he’s just turned 24 but he doesn’t have a lot to show for the period he’s been playing. Now, having just returned from a six-month injury lay-off, the Pietermaritzburg-born left-footed attacker, believes that if he can stay injury-free, he can be key to turning the ailing fortunes of Amakhosi around.
"What I can say is what's been letting me down is the injuries but I know what I can do and like I said I'm working hard to make sure that I stay injury free and play more games and see if I can help the team. I know I can assist; I can make the team play and God gave me the talent and every time I play, I want to showcase that talent," Ngcobo added.
Since the arrival of Chiefs’ acting head coach Cavin Johnson, Ngcobo has been getting some serious game time. He’s played in four of the five league games he’s been in charge of.
He has also started all these matches, compared to the two games he played under former head coach Molefi Ntseki earlier this season.
"I think when we come to training everyone is working hard. We're pushing one another and that makes things easy. We enjoy playing and we enjoy training. I think what coach Cavin Johnson is demanding from me and everyone in the team, it's just to relax and do what you’re known to do and make sure that you go there and enjoy and play like Kaizer Chiefs."
