Nasreddine Nabi knows what he’s doing – Miguel Cardoso

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso says from what he knows about his Kaizer Chiefs counterpart Nasreddine Nabi their Betway Premiership clash on Saturday will not be one-sided.

The log leaders host eighth placed Amakhosi at the Lucas Moripe Stadium carrying the favourites tag because of the 26 points between Sundowns and their Soweto rivals, although Chiefs do have a game in hand.

Downs have also scored an impressive 46 goals in 19 matches, while The Glamour Boys have conceded 23 so far.

But Cardoso refutes the idea that Nabi will be ultra-defensive.

"No, he will not change nothing on his general approach on the game. He can strategically obviously at that certain principles like ourselves can adapt. He's not any kid that is coaching on football for the first time,” Cardoso said.

“I have respect for him and he knows what he's doing and he wants to develop his team, that's what he wants because he's also preparing the future of the club and the team."

If anything, Cardoso suggested the fixture could be a cagey affair.

"Obviously these games also have different contexts. What I mean by a different context is that these games bring something different. They highlight the best of the teams, they highlight most of the times the best of the players that's why there's always some excitement on these teams,” he added.

“But most of the times these kind of games are not the best ones or the best technically well-played matches. Sometimes they are but in Portugal not usually. “When you see a Benfica, Sporting or Porto, usually the matches can be more narrow, more close, more aggressive, not so well played."
