Nasreddine Nabi tweaking his approach for the cup game against Stellies

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi says the tactical approach to their third game against Stellenbosch FC in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals later today is going to be different to the two previous league matches.

Chiefs completed a double over Stellies in the league in the last two months, but Nabi is quick to remind that the demands and approach to a league game are very different.

There’s an old adage that cup games are not played but won, and this is how the Tunisian head coach seems to be approaching this encounter at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

"It's true that, we have played Stellenbosch, we have analysed them during the games, even CAF games. League cups are very different games which is why we're gonna need to play it differently, it needs a lot of mental strength, it needs a lot of patience too because at the end of the game or at the end of the penalty shootouts, someone is gonna be out of the competition," Nabi said.

In the last game played in Cape Town last month, Chiefs scored early and maintained discipline in the defense throughout the game; Nabi says this game will also require a lot of maturity, but he was not prepared to share their plan.

"All those criteria’s you need to take into consideration and as well there is a lot of tactical points that you need to take into consideration that we are not gonna divulge here going into the game but it's gonna be a tricky game but we're prepared for it," the coach added.

Chiefs are coming to this game and carrying some injuries to players like Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Rushwin Dortley (who missed the last game), but Nabi is still confident that they still have enough ammunition in their camp to get a good result, based on their preparations.
