Nasreddine Nabi welcomes Njabulo Blom’s return to Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has expressed his excitement after securing the services of Bafana Bafana midfielder and the club’s development product Njabulo Blom.

Blom is back on loan from Major League Soccer (MLS) side St. Louis City SC and Amakhosi confirmed his arrival yesterday, just two years after they had transferred him to the MLS. St.

Speaking to the media during the Betway Premiership launch, Nabi says Blom’s experience and familiarity with Amakhosi make him a big addition to the squad.

"But I'm very, very happy for the return of Njabulo. He's very experienced, he's part of this family. I'm sure he's got the personality and quality and I need to use him correctly. He's a young player, we'll continue to work hard with my stuff, the coaching unity to look for the best players for the club or for the team," said Nabi.

Blom played 37 matches for St. Louis City, mainly under former Chiefs left-back and Bafana Bafana international Bradley Carnell.

But after Carnell’s departure, he found it difficult to get game time under current coach John Hackworth. Nabi says the 24-year-old’s international experience with Bafana Bafana will also benefit the team.

"Great player, top players, very experienced players with national team experience. He knows the club very well, I like him," he added.

Asked if he’s got enough big players in his squad, as he aims to build a strong squad

to make his team more competitive and improve from last season’s 10th finish in the

league, Nabi says he’s still working on that.

He says the new side Angolan international defender Inácio Miguel is the perfect example of a top player he’s been looking for.

"Yes, I have big players but I want more big players. Inácio is a leader, he's exactly what I needed for my team because he's a leader and has experience and quality. I'm very happy with him."
