This year's competition sees 16 DStv Premiership clubs, eight Motsepe Foundation Championship teams and eight clubs from the SAFA leagues.
One of those SAFA teams, from Mpumalanga, but as yet unnamed, will face the Buccaneers, having come through a number of preliminary round ties.
Other interesting match-ups see First Division club La Masia take on Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United hosting Cape Town City, last season's runners-up Sekhukhune United playing Highlands Park and Kaizer Chiefs at home to Milford FC.
