No holding back against Kaizer Chiefs for KZN’s Milford FC

Milford FC assistant coach Nkululeko Buthelezi says they are worthy to play in the Nedbank Cup and will not hold back when they face Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Sunday.

Buthelezi says he has witnessed the Soweto Giants’ famous upset to so called small teams in the history of the Nedbank Cup - teams such as TS Galaxy, Baroka and Richards Bay FC, which gives them confidence ahead of their big task in Soweto.

The Stallions assistant coach has promised another tough game for Amakhosi.

''According to me they had their own plan to beat Kaizer Chiefs, we also have our own plan, and we are not willing to hold back.''

"What's interesting is that the leaders at Milford FC they all support Kaizer Chiefs, but we will beat them anyway,'' said Buthelezi.

Facing off with Premier Soccer League giants like Kaizer Chiefs, is a big motivation to any club.

According to Buthelezi, the players do not need any extra motivation ahead of this game, he says his players know exactly what to do on the day.

He then addressed the issue of non-payments, which have created problems in the camp for the KZN outfit.

''Playing against Kaizer Chiefs is already a big motivation for us, the team knows what is expected of them.’’

“We have had issues with non-payments which disturbed a team a little bit, but we have managed to overcome that, so now there is nothing that will hinder the team to go forward,'' added Buthelezi.

As much as Sunday’s game will be huge for the Motsepe Foundation side, according to the Buthelezi - they will not give Chiefs a special plan but promises to stick to their usual game plan.

''Our plans have not changed, we are not going to change anything now that we're playing Kaizer Chiefs - we want to stick to our normal game plan,'' he concluded.

The Richards Bay based club is currently not doing well in the second division, they had some challenges with injuries, and have only won once in their last three matches. Buthelezi unpacks their readiness ahead of their weekend clash.

Some of the Stallions' players will be playing at the Soccer City for the first time, and the club has made plans to prepare players for different conditions.

Buthelezi is yet to make his name in South African football, and playing against Kaizer Chiefs with such a rich history, will give him exposure to the entire country. And he looks forward to the much anticipated experience.
