Not even a striker’s coach could’ve helped against CT City - Nasreddine Nabi

A dejected Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi doesn’t believe that a striker’s coach could have helped them beat Cape Town City in last night’s goalless draw in the Betway Premiership match played at the FNB Stadium.

Chiefs missed some clear-cut clinical clear cut goal scoring opportunities last night, especially in the first half, that could’ve helped them climb higher on the log standings. But Nabi doesn’t seem to be ruling out that option entirely.

"We feel that to not score today, it’s not an issue about a coach for strikers. Probably it's an idea that you can discuss about but it's not an issue for today's game," Nabi said.

Chiefs, not for the first time this season, missed an opportunity to move up the table and close the gap with the teams chasing the third spot, and Nabi was clearly not happy with that.

"To score, it's not dramatic but it's very good because it's not the first time we have a chance to go up but we continued to win. You remember from the start of the season and from now, the mistakes continued and they are the same,” he added.

“You have a chance to go up, you lose this chance. In the moment, you need evaluation on what is the problem because today, normal stories, three, four, zero. Big respect to Cape Town [City], they are a big club but today we needed to score. I don't want to attack my players, I need to protect my players."

A win last night could have seen Chiefs move to 31 points, which would've meant they are just three points behind Sekhukhune United and in a perfect position to gun for the third spot.
