Obi claims Eden Hazard's 'laziness' hinders his potential at Real Madrid

Former Chelsea midfielder Mikel John Obi claimed Eden Hazard was the laziest footballer he has ever played with.

In an interview with Dubai Eye, Obi praised Hazard's talent but criticized his commitment to training and fitness.

"Eden Hazard is the laziest footballer I have seen in my life, but on match day he would win the Man of the Match award," said Obi.

"The night before a game, and after dinner, he would sit there for 20 to 30 minutes eating rice pudding. He likes his food. He could have been a better footballer if he had put more effort into training, to be able to improve his football."

Hazard's transfer to Real Madrid in 2019 was meant to be a dream move for the Belgian, but it has been a nightmare for both player and club.

Injuries, lack of form, and fitness issues have plagued his time in Spain, and he has become a peripheral figure under Carlo Ancelotti.

Hazard's apparent lack of commitment has been criticized by many, and these comments from Obi will only add fuel to the fire.

Real Madrid officials are reportedly looking to move the forward on this summer, despite his contract expiring at the end of next season.
