Mabasa finally ended his goal drought in the Betway Premiership when The Buccaneers thrashed Marumo Gallants 8-1 on Christmas Eve at Orlando Stadium to retain second place on the log table.
Mabasa says he needed a lot of support during the dry spell.
"It's a sense of relief, I mean the last time I scored in the league was the first league game against of the season against Chippa [United]. For me to get an opportunity and to get three, you know, it just shows the amount of support that I've been getting from the rest of the team,” Mabasa said.
“They've really been rallying behind me and I can only appreciate that and say thank you to them and the technical team as well, they've shown faith and they haven't doubted me and I'm just happy that I could deliver today."
The Pirates striker finished the previous season as the league’s top goal scorer but struggled to immediately replicate that purple patch in the new campaign.
Mabasa wants to now build from getting three in one match.
"Every striker in the world of football wants to score goals and to walk away with three today is a really special feeling for me, like I say, I give credit to the technical team, coach, my fellow teammates as well,” he added.
“The amount of support that they've been giving me like I've said has been amazing and for me to repay them like this because they've always believed in me, they've always shown faith in me and I just want to say thank you to them, I couldn't have done without them.
“I continuously watch football and want to improve my game, watching the likes of Erling Halaand, Harry Kane, world-famous strikers and how they do things. It motivates me as a player and it only motivates me to keep pushing and to do more."
