On Wednesday evening, Pirates were held to a one-all draw by City at Cape Town Stadium, with Relebohile Mofokeng scoring the crucial away goal.
With all the slight advantage that comes with it, Riveiro wants to see his team taking charge tomorrow eSgodini from the first whistle.
"No, we don't have other ways to approach the game except for trying to win. As much as we when we are ourselves and we behave in that way and we give our foundation then things go well for us, that's what we know,” Riveiro said.
“So, we are not preparing ourselves tomorrow to protect the lead or to speculate with the away goal or not. We know that by winning the game we are in the final, so we're gonna try to win the match."
Last season, the away goal was crucial for Pirates in reaching the final, despite their 1-0 loss in the second leg at home against Stellenbosch FC, they were bailed out by the away goal from the 2-1 in Cape Town.
Riveiro insists going for the win is their primary target for this game.
"At the end of the game, if we go to the last stages of the game and the result is 0-0, well many things can happen at that time. We're gonna try to play for the result, we're gonna try to play to win the match at home with our fans, I'm sure there's gonna be a decent crowd in Orlando,” he added.
“Our way to approach every game is to win. We are not a team to only focus on protecting the lead like I said at the beginning of my answer, things used to go well for us when we are ourselves and ourselves is going to the games to win."
