Orlando Pirates recorded an important 2-1 victory over Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership on Sunday.
Patrick Maswanganyi opened the scoring from the penalty spot on the half hour mark ahead of a Nduduzo Sibiya equaliser on the stroke of half time, also from the penalty spot.
But Karim Kimvuidi netted on 56 minutes to secure all three points for the away team.
The result saw the Buccaneers end the afternoon in third place on the league standings with 25 points from 14 games and Arrows down in seventh with 20 points.
Pirates started on the front foot with Kimvuidi trying his luck with a shot from wide early on that was comfortably saved by Arrows stopper Sifiso Mlungwana.
Deon Hotto then fired a free-kick off target as Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo smashed his long-range shot just wide.
Maswanganyi should have done better with his effort on 15 minutes but he made no mistake from the spot 15 minutes later as he powered home into the bottom right-hand corner of the Arrows net.
The home side's first best chance came through Tebogo Tlolane but he failed to keep his shot down.
But Arrows were on level terms when Sibiya buried his spot-kick just before the interval.
Both sides had chances to take the lead at the start of the second period, but Ndlondlo was wayward for Bucs before Maswanganyi saw his goal-bound shot blocked en route to goal.
But Kimvuidi was perfectly place to fire home shortly after with an unstoppable shot into the top of the Arrows net.
Arrows tried in vain to get back into the tie, with Nhlanhla Zwane coming as close as anyone to a late goal.
A raft of substitutions disrupted the flow for the home team and Pirates were able to secure a third successive league win.
