Pedri eyes glory as Barcelona face Athletic Club in Supercopa clash

Star midfielder Pedri is back in Saudi Arabia with eyes on another Supercopa title as Barcelona are set to take on Athletic Club in the semi-final on Wednesday at King Abdullah Sport City.

Having tasted victory in this competition before, Pedri knows the importance of this trophy for boosting team morale.

"Winning the Supercopa is a beautiful title, especially as it comes mid-season; it gives the squad a lot of confidence to tackle the rest of the campaign," he said in an interview with the club's official media.

Barcelona have already shown their prowess against Athletic Club this season during La Liga's second matchday, but Pedri warns against complacency.

"Athletic Club have a strong team, with standout players; it won't be easy. We beat them earlier this season, and we want to do it again," he added, reflecting on the challenge ahead.

The memory of last year's final, where Barcelona clinched a 3-1 victory over Real Madrid, with Pedri contributing the third goal, remains vivid.

"I remember it well because I scored, and Gavi had an outstanding game; he was phenomenal," Pedri reminisced.

As both teams converge in Saudi Arabia, the anticipation builds for a match that could define the early momentum for Barcelona in their quest for more silverware this season.
