In a tense encounter that seemed destined for a stalemate, Emam Ashour finally broke the deadlock in the 89th minute, propelling Al Ahly into the lead and sending Zamalek reeling.
The late goal left Zamalek's players visibly disheartened, and their hopes were dashed further deep into stoppage time when Afsha netted a second for Al Ahly.
Although Tau, a key figure for Al Ahly, started the match, he was substituted after 73 minutes with the score still deadlocked at 0-0. However, his impactful presence had already left its mark on the Zamalek defence, paving the way for Al Ahly's eventual triumph.
With this latest victory, Tau's trophy cabinet continues to swell, marking his eighth title since joining Al Ahly in 2021.
His impressive haul includes two Egyptian Super Cup triumphs, two CAF Champions League titles, two Egypt Cup victories, one CAF Super Cup accolade, and one Egyptian Premier League crown.
