Despite a season that ended with Gallants relegated from the DStv Premiership, the 26-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign and once again caught the attention of one of the big Premier Soccer League clubs.
Otladisa made a remarkable 43 appearances for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa in all competitions, including the CAF Confederation Cup – where the club enjoyed a memorable run all the way to the semi-finals.
Reports that the Buccaneers were interested in Otladisa began circulating last year, but the deal is now understood to finally be over the line with Pirates believed to have paid a sizeable transfer fee due to the winger still being under contract at Gallants.
This is another big move for the 26-year-old, who previously joined Mamelodi Sundowns five years ago from the now-defunct Platinum Stars.
However, the spell ended without the player ever making an official appearance for the Brazilians in any of the domestic competitions under then-coach Pitso Mosimane, until he was released in November 2020.
He signed for Gallants two seasons ago and revived his career, but is now on the rise again – this time joining the Soweto giants, where he will work with coach Jose Riveiro and help them in their upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.
The Buccaneers are returning to the continental tournament after finishing runners-up to Sundowns in the league last month.
Otladisa will also have to fight for his place against other wide players like Monnapule Saleng, Vincent Pule, Deon Hotto, and Craig Martin.
