The 27-year-old is currently a free agent after talks over a new contract with Sundowns broke down, as confirmed to SABC Sport by his representative Lance Davids of Football First.
It was always expected then that Domingo would immediately attract interest from elsewhere, considering there would be no transfer fee applicable to any of his suitors, and the North African giants have wasted no time.
Reports in Morocco, as well as local publication iDiski Times, have suggested the deal is all but done.
Davids was not immediately available for comment to give an update since Domingo left Chloorkop, but the public broadcaster understands the player hasn’t yet put pen to paper as things stand.
Raja last week roped in former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer as head coach and are set to beef up their squad to challenge for the league title next season, having failed to challenge in the Botola Pro League this year.
Domingo joined Sundowns from Bidvest Wits after the Clever Boys sold their Premier Soccer League topflight status and dismantled a team that had won the league three years prior.
Following the move, the 27-year-old formed part of the Downs side that won the DStv Premiership title in 2021, 2022 as well as 2023, and was highly rated by coach Rulani Mokwena, who would have loved to see him stay.
But Davids said talks with sporting director Flemming Berg over a new contract collapsed and Domingo subsequently became a free agent.
