Real Betis finalise permanent signing of Marco Roca from Leeds

Real Betis have signed Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee after a successful loan spell.

Roca featured in 37 matches across all competitions for Manuel Pelligrini's squad last season, contributing three goals and four assists that aided Betis in securing European qualification with a seventh-place finish in La Liga.

Signed from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022 on a four-year deal, Roca departed on loan after just one season following Leeds' relegation to the Championship.

The former Spanish youth international played 32 Premier League games during the 2022-23 season as Leeds dropped out of the top flight on the final day.

He was among several players loaned out by Leeds last summer in the wake of their relegation, including Robin Koch, Brenden Aaronson, Max Wober, Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra, Rasmus Kristensen, and Diego Llorente.

"Leeds United can confirm Marc Roca has joined Spanish La Liga outfit Real Betis, for an undisclosed fee," read a statement on Leeds' official website.

"Roca spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Estadio Benito Villamarín and has now agreed a permanent move."
