Real Madrid set sights on Alphonso Davies with increased bid to Bayern Munich

Real Madrid are intensifying their pursuit of Alphonso Davies, reportedly willing to raise their offer to Bayern Munich to €50 million, as revealed by Cadena Ser.

According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, the transfer saga appears to be entering its final phase. Initially, the Spanish giants tabled a ‚¬35 million proposal for the Canadian full-back, which the Bavarian leaders deemed inadequate. However, Real Madrid are prepared to redouble their efforts to secure the services of the dynamic wing-back.

Davies, aged 23, embodies both present prowess and future potential in the eyes of Real Madrid's sporting directors. They view the left-back position as a crucial area for reinforcement ahead of the upcoming La Liga season. Despite Carlo Ancelotti's satisfaction with Ferland Mendy, confidence in recent recruit Fran Garcia has dwindled since his arrival last summer.

The Canadian international is under contract with Bayern until June 30, 2025. The Bavarian outfit are keen to avoid a repeat of the scenario witnessed with David Alaba in 2021. The Austrian ran down his contract with Bayern before joining Real Madrid on a free transfer, leaving the club with no financial compensation.

To prevent a recurrence of such a setback, the German club's leadership have come to terms with the likelihood of selling Davies this summer.

The young footballer has ignored successive contract renewal offers from Bayern, indicating a probable understanding with Real Madrid, whether for the upcoming season or the one thereafter.
