Report: Bayer Leverkusen target Almeria starlet Sergio Arribas

Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly eyeing a move for Almeria's talented young midfielder Sergio Arribas.

Following his summer departure from Real Madrid, Arribas embraced a new chapter with La Liga side Almeria.

The 22-year-old, who had previously delivered an outstanding campaign with Castilla, has recently translated that form to the Andalusian outfit, albeit grappling with the team's struggle as they are yet to secure a league victory this season.

While Arribas showcases his prowess with Almeria, the spectre of relegation looms over the struggling side. If the club faces relegation, Arribas may seek a departure next summer, posing a significant setback to Almeria's survival aspirations.

However, there's a possibility that his exit could occur as early as January, intensifying the challenges for Almeria.

According to reports from MD, Bayer Leverkusen, led by Xabi Alonso, has expressed interest in acquiring Arribas and could make a move during the upcoming winter transfer window.

The Bundesliga leaders had shown interest in the young midfielder during the summer before he opted for Almeria.

With Almeria grappling with La Liga struggles, Leverkusen might exploit the situation to secure Arribas' services.
