Cape Town-born Davids played as a senior professional for Maritzburg between 2007 and 2012 before moving into an assisting coaching role at the KZN outfit before finally being sacked as head coach in December 2018.
Davids then joined Orlando Pirates as assistant coach to Milutin Sredojevic and worked under Josef Zinnbauer thereafter winning the MTN8. Davids parted ways with Pirates most recently and was quickly brought in by Zinnbauer as right-hand man at Russian giants Lokomotiv Moscow.
However, in another twist in his coaching career, Davids left Lokomotiv Moscow as a result of Zinnbauer resigning after only a few weeks.
Davids will reportedly succeed John Maduka, who the club decided to part ways with a week ago.
