Report: Man City to match Dani Olmo's release clause at RB Leipzig

Premier League champions Manchester City are actively pursuing RB Leipzig forward Dani Olmo, who has a £51million release clause in his contract.

Olmo, who has made a notable impact at Euro 2024, is highly regarded by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

City, who have won four consecutive titles, are keen on bolstering their squad further and reportedly see Olmo as a valuable addition.

Manchester City are prepared to meet the £51m release clause in Olmo's contract, which still has three years remaining. Despite interest from other European clubs, City are reportedly the frontrunners in securing Olmo's signature.

Olmo has featured in Spain's Euro 2024 campaign, starting one of their three group matches and assisting Ferran Torres in a goal against Albania.

He also contributed off the bench in Spain's 3-0 victory over Croatia. Spain have progressed to the knockout stages, where they will face Georgia on Sunday.

A product of Barcelona's La Masia academy, Olmo's playing style is well-suited to Manchester City's approach. His directness and dynamism are seen as assets that could help transition the midfield into a new era once Kevin De Bruyne moves on or retires.

Dani Olmo's potential move to Manchester City represents the club's ongoing ambition to remain at the pinnacle of English football by continuously enhancing their squad with top-tier talent.
