The Natal Rich Boys signed Sibanyoni at the start of the season following his impressive stint with Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit University of Pretoria, helping them reach the promotion play-offs.
It’s understood Sibanyoni will likely return to his old club in the second tier who are looking for reinforcements after starting off poorly and are in 10th place after 14 matches on the log table.
Sibanyoni appeared to get regular minutes under coach Brandon Truter earlier in the season despite not scoring, but his game time was significantly reduced with Richards Bay under pressure.
Truter was later sacked after eight Betway Premiership matches with his assistant Ronnie Gabriel taking over indefinitely – however, by then it was already late for Sibanyoni with a call made to mutually terminate his contract.
The forward rose to prominence in the lower division having graduated from the Mamelodi Sundowns reserves, being one of the top strikers at JDR Stars as well as AmaTuks during his loan spell.
He also spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at SuperSport United although his time there was disrupted by injuries.
Richards Bay have now opted to rather rely on Yanele Mbuthuma, Somila Ntsundwana, Thabiso Kutumela as well as players from their Diski Challenge set-up as they let Sibanyoni go.
