While the Giallorossi are reportedly on the verge of acquiring Enzo Le Fee from Stade Rennais for around â¬20 million, Pruzzo believed those funds would be better spent on a player with Lookman's attributes.
Nigeria international, Lookman, who transitioned from a winger to a more advanced role at Atalanta, has excelled as a support striker and centre forward.
His solid performance included 50 goal involvements (32 goals, 18 assists) in 78 matches for the Bergamo club. In the past Serie A season, he was the only player to achieve double-digit goals in home matches.
Speaking to Radio Radio Mattino, Pruzzo praised Lookman's ability to outmaneuver defenders, highlighting his impact on the field. "Roma would need a Lookman style striker, who can take the ball and skip past his man," Pruzzo remarked.
He also expressed concern over the potential signing of Le Fee, questioning whether the midfielder would even secure a starting spot. "The expense of more than 20 million for Le Fee, who might not even start, intrigues me a little," he added.
Lookman's influence was most evident in the 2024 Europa League final, where he scored a historic hat-trick, leading Atalanta to a 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen. This triumph marked Atalanta's first European title, underscoring Lookman's pivotal role.
Pruzzo's comments reflect a broader sentiment among Roma supporters who crave a dynamic forward capable of transforming matches, much like Lookman has done for Atalanta.
