Rodrygo's return boosts Real Madrid's hopes ahead of Liverpool clash

Rodrygo has returned to field training at Valdebebas just eight days ahead of Real Madrid's crucial Champions League clash against Liverpool.

The Brazilian forward, initially expected to be sidelined for five to six weeks due to a thigh injury, has shown remarkable progress, raising hopes of a quicker recovery.

Rodrygo sustained a muscle injury to his left quadriceps during Madrid's 1-1 draw with Osasuna on November 9, only 20 minutes into his return after a previous injury. In that match against Borussia Dortmund, he had been out for 14 days following a left hamstring issue.

His swift recovery from this latest setback has come as a pleasant surprise, with the player already back on the training pitch.

The session marked a significant day for Madrid, with several notable comebacks. Thibaut Courtois also took part in his first group training since suffering an injury over a month ago. His return suggests he could be available for Madrid's next match against Leganes on November 24, set to take place at Estadio Municipal Butarque.

Lucas Vazquez, along with Rodrygo and David Alaba, also trained individually, working on his ball control on the field. Medical staff are optimistic about his readiness for the upcoming Liverpool game, providing a much-needed boost for manager Carlo Ancelotti, particularly in defence.

Meanwhile, Aurelien Tchouameni and Dani Carvajal continue to make progress in their recovery, though Eder Militao faces surgery to repair a torn ACL and damaged meniscus in his right knee, which will keep him out for the foreseeable future.

Ancelotti will be hoping the returning players can bolster his squad as Madrid prepare for their decisive encounter on November 27 at Anfield (22h00).
