Barcelona's triumphant league victory owes much to coach Xavi Hernandez, according to defender Ronald Araujo.
Although the Catalan coach faced significant criticism this season, one of his defensive stalwarts left no room for doubt regarding Xavi's pivotal role in their success.
"The season has been spectacular. We've had a tremendous campaign, especially winning challenging and crucial matches," Araujo stated during an interview with Radio Catalunya.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old Araujo highlighted an aspect of Xavi's management that has been perhaps underrated since his arrival at the club.
"Xavi is the primary architect of this title. Many players, myself included, have developed immensely since his arrival. In recent years, Barca had lost its identity, and the players had deviated from the established model. Xavi rectified all of this, and now we are once again a recognizable team."
Araujo also commented on his duels with Vinicius Junior. Lately, Araujo has often been deployed as a right-back in El Clasico to counter the Brazilian, and this tactical adjustment has generally yielded positive outcomes.
"I strive to perform well, but I acknowledge that there are occasions when I come out on top in the duels, while other times he prevails, as he is currently the best player in one-on-one situations."
Having extended his contract until 2026, Araujo eagerly awaits Barcelona's ability to register the new deal. Overall, it appears that he will remain a pivotal figure for Barcelona for years to come.
If Xavi continues to enhance his development, Araujo is set to be recognized as one of the world's premier defenders.
