A stunning first half goal from right-back Keenan Phillips was enough to land the Dube Birds all three points at Dobsonville Stadium.
The victory pushed Swallows to fifth spot on the log table, which so far suits Komphela’s grand plan for the Soweto outfit.
"We were at 17 points after how many matches - nine? Getting three points would mean 20 points after 10 matches, which is exactly what we discussed when we were at the Carling Knockout press conference," highlighted the coach.
"Somebody was asking me about a review of the season [so far] and all that, and I had to break down what we did in pre-season and all that, so we are in line with those objectives of two points per match."
With the exception of log leaders Sundowns, all clubs above Swallows on the table have played a game or two more, but Komphela insists those outstanding matches only count when maximum points are collected.
"There's nothing as bad as relying on matches to be played being converted to points. Sometimes it doesn't happen like that, you'll find that you complete all these outstanding matches without having put enough points on the table," he added.
"So, all that we're fighting for is that, let's convert these matches in hand into points, and when that happens then we are likely to be underneath Sundowns."
