Substitutes Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres guide Barcelona back to top of La Liga

With this win, Barcelona now sit atop the table with 54 points, one ahead of Atlético Madrid. Real Madrid follow in third with 51 points but have a game in hand and will face Girona on Sunday.

Both teams were largely ineffective in attack throughout a slow-paced game, failing to generate many clear chances. However, Barcelona broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute when Olmo fired a shot from inside the box.

Torres sealed the win in added time, capitalizing on a defensive error from Las Palmas to score from close range five minutes into stoppage time.

"There's no pressure; we're still in control, and it's up to us to keep it that way," Olmo told Movistar Plus after the match.

"I'm really happy to help the team secure three crucial points in the title race, especially against a Las Palmas team that defends very well."

"They block passing lanes inside, so we had to be patient to find our way to the goal. In the second half, we created more chances, and in the end, we got this important win."

An early attempt from Las Palmas's Sandro, denied by goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, hinted at an exciting game, but both sides quickly neutralized each other.

Barcelona's manager Hansi Flick made the decisive move of bringing Olmo on for Fermín López after the break, a decision that paid off in the 62nd minute.

Olmo received a precise pass from Lamine Yamal inside a crowded box, made a quick shift from right to left to create space, and unleashed a powerful shot that struck the crossbar before crossing the goal line.

Las Palmas were left protesting for a penalty in the 80th minute when Barça's Eric García appeared to handle the ball inside the box. However, after a lengthy VAR review, the referee overturned the decision, ruling that an offside had occurred earlier in the build-up.

The game was put to bed in the final moments when Las Palmas made a blunder while restarting play in the 95th minute. Raphinha quickly passed to Torres, who fired an unstoppable left-footed shot into the net to secure all three points for Barcelona.
