The 19-year-old made his sixth appearance of the season, playing the full match, in a star studded Tshwane outfit.
Mngqithi spoke of Tiwani’s trajectory over the last several months.
''That's very impressive. I don't want to lie to you. He is one player that surprises all of us, when you consider that - just last season he was a DCC player for Sekhukhune and suddenly he is amongst serious contenders in the Sundowns camp. And, a good thing about him which is unusual with youngsters is that he is consistent. One just hopes and prays that he does not get injured,'' said Mngqithi.
Mngqithi’s compliments after that fixture were not only limited to Tiwani, but to the opposition coach as well in Phuti Mohafe.
''I have known this boy for more than 10 years now. You can ask him, I told him that you are going to become one of the best coaches in this country. The first time I saw him - I think we were playing in a pre-season friendly and I was listening to him talking to his team and I heard that this boy has attention to details and he has a lot to give to South African football. From that time till now our relationship has always been very good,'' added Mngqithi.
Having been the mastermind of Sundowns losing 1-0 to allow Orlando Pirates to remain top of the table, Mngqithi predicts Mohafe will be among the best coaches in the PSL in the coming years.
''I am very optimistic he will make it, he loves the game and pays attention to details. I don't know who recruits for Polokwane City, but they have a lot of very good players,'' he expressed.
The Sundowns mentor added that he felt Rise and Shine were among the underrated teams in the league with their squad evidence they have a solid scouting network.
