The 30-year-old has returned to Chloorkop following a two-year stint out on loan at crosstown rivals SuperSport United.
Goss made over 50 appearances for Matsatsantsa under coach Gavin Hunt and this paved the way for his national team call-up as the keeper forced his way into the squad for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) earlier this year.
Information gathered by the public broadcaster is that Sundowns will not hold on to Goss if there’s a genuine offer for his services.
It’s understood talks are ongoing with SuperSport to take the goalkeeper on a permanent basis given that his departure has left a void at the club, but the two parties are yet to officially agree on a transfer.
As such, SABC Sport can confirm that The Brazilians have indicated willingness to listen to bids for the player who joined Downs when Bidvest Wits sold its Premier Soccer League topflight franchise in September 2020.
Goss was battling it out to be first choice with Brandon Petersen, who also moved on and joined Kaizer Chiefs after the sale went through.
With Bafana involved in AFCON qualifiers for next year’s tournament in Cameroon as well as hoping to make it to the extended FIFA World Cup in 2026, it’s obvious Goss will lose his place in the national team if he does not get regular game time.
Competition is stiff at Sundowns at the moment with Ronwen Williams, Denis Onyango, Reyaad Pieterse and Jody February all ahead in the pecking order.
The transfer window at the start of the upcoming season doesn’t close until 20 September, but the next few weeks will be crucial for Goss.
