This to make way for another attacker in Christian Saile, who joined the Tshwane outfit on loan from Kaizer Chiefs for the rest of the season, to beef up coach Gavin Hunt’s attack while Nasir continues to battle injuries.
SuperSport had also taken the 24-year-old on loan from crosstown rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, desperately hoping he could rediscover the form that made him hot property on the continent three years ago.
However, following two serious injuries while at Chloorkop as well as a few setbacks in between, Nasir has hardly featured for both Sundowns and SuperSport, who have thus made the tough call to delist him.
Hunt claimed two weeks ago that the player had gone AWOL, but it’s understood he has since resurfaced and working on his recovery at the club.
The public broadcaster understands the forward will continue his rehabilitation at Megawatt Park, with the view that he could be fit again ahead of next season to help the club, provided The Brazilians don't recall him in the off-season.
The 24-year-old was one of three strikers Hunt was banking on to help veteran Bradley Grobler carry the goal scoring load this season – the others being Samir Nurkovic as well as Tashreeq Morris.
But there were changes along the way,, with Grobler out injured again and Nurkovic only getting his work permit this month, while Morris has surprisingly left for Chiefs.
SuperSport have also signed Lebohang Maboe on loan from Downs for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
SuperSport United FC is pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Lebohang Maboe from Mamelodi Sundowns (Loan) until the end of the season.
