Teenager Romain Esse 'loving life' at Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace winger Romain Esse is looking to make his mark under manager Oliver Glasner as the squad prepares for a mid-season friendly against Norwegian side HamKam.

The 19-year-old joined Palace from Millwall in January and has already made an impact, scoring with his first touch on his home debut against Brentford.

Now in Marbella for an extended training camp, Esse is eager to integrate further with his teammates and catch the eye of Glasner.

The camp offers a valuable opportunity for the young winger to adapt to Palace's playing style and stake a claim for more minutes in the second half of the season.

Palace's mid-season preparations come at a crucial time, with Glasner looking to fine-tune his squad ahead of a busy run of fixtures.

For Esse, the friendly against HamKam could be another chance to showcase his talent and build on his promising start at Selhurst Park.

"It's [the training camp] been very enjoyable," said Esse.

"We've had some relaxed days, and some more intense days. I've enjoyed it, enjoyed the sessions, we've had heat and some rain but we've just had to adapt to it.

"We're just making sure that we're getting our work done and that we'll be ready for when we come back from this break, then continuing the season from there.

"I'm enjoying it. I'm loving life here. The boys have made me feel welcome.

"Now it's just about me training hard and giving the manager a bit of a problem to try and pick me. But I've just got to stay patient and ready."
