The 22-year-old rejoined the Chilli Boys at the start of the season following a tough stint at Orlando Pirates.
But Matrose has only managed five appearances and is yet to display the form that attracted Pirates in the first place.
September says this might change when they move from Gqeberha to East London.
"Environment as well, he's back home now so mentally some players struggle to play when they are back home, there's a possibility of the club moving to East London, that will help him to get out of the safe and nice environment of being at home and realise that he needs to work,” September said.
“So, we hope the move to East London happens so that players who are from PE, can get out of the homely environment and start taking football as a profession."
Although Chippa only managed a draw away to Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership on Saturday afternoon, a top-eight finish is in their hands.
The Chilli Boys have two games in hand and September is confident the squad can consolidate the position.
"I believe in my players, it's my job to make them better, so yeah. I think we have the squad, we just need to work harder, us as well as coaches, invest in education and help the players to grow but we've got good talent,” he added.
“I think Sinoxolo [Kwayiba] is not here, as you've mentioned, Aviwe [Mqokozo] is stepping up, Baloni [Siphelo] is not here, someone else is stepping up, Papama [Tyongwana] is stepping up. A young Xolani Sithole has done well, so we do have a good balance."
September already has one eye on next season and admits Chippa will be forced to reshuffle a few positions with players like Sinoxolo Kwayiba linked with moves away from the club in July.
"Yeah, we will lose some but there's definitely the core we will keep. It's football, when you want to make your team better then you sell your better players and invest in younger players and try to be stable. But you will lose a few and rebuild in the positions that we'll lose, but the bunch of players we'll keep."
