This comes after Maseko’s impressive performance in the recently concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast where Bafana clinched bronze medal.
According to FIFA.com, Maseko, alongside 20-year-old Ivorian attacker, Oumar Diakite, 20-year-old Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara, 22-year-old Mali attacking midfielder Nene Dorgeles and 19-year-old Moroccan playmaker Bilal El Khannouss delivered a stellar performance in the AFCON.
Maseko says he’s thankful for the acknowledgment.
"It's a privilege, I'm very proud of myself and I'm grateful for the recognition given to me. It all became possible because of my coach, coach Rulani and coach Hugo in believing in me. I'm very, very thankful for that, for my growth, for their guidance in me," Maseko said.
With 80% of the current Bafana crop made up of Sundowns players, the 20-year-old winger believes that the experience they gained at the AFCON will benefit his domestic club performance going forward.
"I think it's gonna benefit the team because the experience we gained from the AFCON in our African tournaments. It's gonna help also me because I've gained some experience from AFCON. It's gonna help me become a better player," Maseko added.
Maseko did not play in the game against Nigeria and DR Congo as he sustained a muscle injury in extra time during the quarterfinal victory over Cape Verde.
He says playing amongst the best in the world - whilst learning and rubbing shoulders with seasoned players such as Tebogo Mokoena, Percy Tau and Themba Zwane at camp will help him grow.
"Being part of this amazing group of players. It's a proud moment, I didn't even dream it in my wildest dreams to be part of your Teboho Mokeona's, your Mshishi, your Percy Tau's and their guidance also and the advices, they go a long way in my development."
