Johnson, speaking after an eyesore as Chiefs narrowly beat a struggling Richards Bay FC 1-0 at FNB Stadium on Saturday, felt his players were too erratic on the day.

A solitary ground shot from Nkosingiphile “Mshini” Ngcobo saved the day for Amakhosi who moved to the sixth spot on the log with 23 points from 15 matches.
"I think we won the game, but we made too many errors for me. In certain moments in the game, I thought we could have held the ball better, we could have gone further up the pitch with a lot more finesse, like we trained," Johnson said.
"But we tend to put ourselves under a lot of pressure – in the first half, I think we did a little bit in the first 20 minutes, there was a lot of energy in the team, we had one or two – I think – clear chances where we should have scored.
"And then some of the players, in the first half as well, the decision-making to shoot or to pass in between, and we lose the ball – and, of course, we know we were playing against a counter-attacking team, so they come at you.
"But in the second half it was a lot more difficult because I think they [Bay] missed one or two [chances], but be that as it may, we win the game and we carry on. We'll try and fix up what happened and hopefully we'll be able to get it right."
Chiefs travel to Polokwane for their final fixture of 2023 against Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on 30 December, before club football takes a recess for the Africa Cup of Nations kicking off on 13 January.
