The Rockets prepare to face Thunderbirds Ladies at Mbombela Stadium tomorrow, when they will become the first women’s team to host at a FIFA World Cup venue, before they face University of Western Cape and City Lads next weekend.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Sibiya says, even though it won’t be easy, they know they are capable of securing a win against the already-relegated Eastern Cape outfit.
"I think it's going to be one of the most difficult matches, and I did highlight to the players three weeks ago that, they are going to be facing difficult matches – this will be Lindelani Ladies, TUT Matsatsantsa, and Thunderbirds Ladies," said Sibiya.
"If you look at the teams that have nothing to play for, it's just like in training – if you put your possible starting line-up and they play against the second team, the second team does so well and you end up wanting to change your mind.
"So it's not going to be an easy ask for the team, but I hope we can pull through."
In the previous season, Galaxy finished fourth on the log with 61 points, but Sibiya believes the team will surprise many this season as they look for a top-three finish.
"Last season we finished fourth on the log, with 61 points, so right now, we are possibly looking at a maximum of 67 points, which would be a huge improvement, and then we'll talk about surprises from there," he added.
"If we finish number three, then we'll talk about surprises – if you also look at how we started [the season] as a team, we started very slow and gradually things worked for the best."
