TS Galaxy see off Royal AM as AmaZulu down Cape Town City

TS Galaxy and AmaZulu both recorded important wins in the Betway Premiership on Sunday.

Royal AM 1-3 TS Galaxy

Royal AM suffered yet another Betway Premiership defeat as they went down 3-1 to TS Galaxy at home on Sunday.

Dzenan Zajmovic opened the scoring at the Harry Gwala Stadium on just eight minutes.

Victor Letsoalo doubled the Rockets' lead deep into first-half stoppage time, and despite Sedwyn George pulling a goal back from the penalty spot on 52 minutes, Sphiwe Mahlangu secured the win when he netted a 66th minute penalty.

Royal AM have still won just once this season, losing five and drawing five - in 11 games - to sit in 14th place on the league standings with eight points.

Galaxy ended the afternoon in ninth place with 13 points.

Cape Town City 0-1 AmaZulu

Cape Town City's woeful 2024/25 campaign continued with a 1-0 reverse to AmaZulu on their home turf.

Eric Tinkler's side have struggled for results this term, and were second best to an Usuthu team that have now registered four league wins under co-coaches Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilkazi.

Hendrick Ekstein scored his third goal of the season when he netted at the Cape Town Stadium after 19 minutes.

The Citizens find themselves in 12th place with just three wins from ten games and just five points off the foot of the table, while AmaZulu moved above City by one point into 11th.
