Thanks to Banyana Banyana winning the Womens Africa Cup of Nations in July, the local Hollywoodbets Super League has become a beneficiary.
Just recently, midfielder Noxolo Cesane joined French outfit Stade de Reims from the University of the Western Cape as the national teams overseas contingent continues to grow.
Banyana will now face Australia in the UK next month after hosting Brazil.
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies coach Jerry Tshabalala weighs in on what he has observed over the years during an interview with the SA Football Journalists Association (SAFJA).
There are few teams that are improving in the league, there are few team that want to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns and when you look at the teams from eight [position] downwards, not saying they are not improving but it will take them some time to get where Sundowns is."
"But there are other team when you look at them from eight upwards you can see there is a lot of improvement, said Tshabalala
Tshabalala, whose charges remain top of the table after 19 matches, singles out teams that he believes are advancing.
Just a typical example, when you look at UJ [University of Johannesburg], you compare the UJ of last season and the UJ of this season, it shows you that the experience they acquired this season they want to compete in the league".
"But other problem you look there are two teams-theres Coal City Wizards, there is your First Touch [FC], when the league started those were the two teams you would find in the top 5 but instead of them improving its like they are going backwards so it tells that there are certain teams that are improving, Tshabalala added.
