VfB Stuttgart gear up for 2024 Bundesliga Kick-off amidst fan frenzy

VfB Stuttgart captain Waldemar Anton shared insights on the team's preparations and the overwhelming support from hundreds of fans at training.

Anton, a favourite among supporters, expressed gratitude, in an interview with VfB TV, for the massive turnout at the club's Bad Cannstatt headquarters. "We're grateful to everyone who visits, and we're happy to feel the support," emphasized the central defender. With the clock ticking down to their first clash in 2024 against Borussia Monchengladbach on January 14, VfB Stuttgart face a tight schedule, heightening the importance of elevating training intensity promptly.

As the team braces for a showdown with Gladbach, Anton shared insights on their preparation strategy. "We want to maintain our level from the get-go, which we've already managed to do yesterday and today," Anton revealed. He emphasized the significance of focusing on fundamentals like concentration and a sharp passing game during training, asserting that mastering these basics facilitates smoother transitions to competitive fixtures.

In the lead-up to their Bundesliga return, Stuttgart are set to face second-tier SpVgg Greuther Furth in a friendly on Saturday. This encounter serves as a vital litmus test before the real action unfolds. Despite the time constraints, Anton exuded confidence in the team's progress, stating, "You start with the basics, like concentration and a good passing game, in training. If you fully take that on board in training, it'll be easier in games."

The next opportunity for fans to witness the team's preparation first-hand is at the club centre on January 4. As anticipation builds for the 2024 Bundesliga kick-off, VfB are navigating a challenging but promising path, fuelled by the unwavering support of their dedicated fanbase.
