The Belgian has added 12 players contracted to clubs outside of the country ahead of the two back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Liberia this month.

Broos says they are playing in relatively strong leagues.

"It's a very good thing that overseas players are now playing in the team, that's the most important thing. We all know that most international leagues are stronger than the league here, so there’s progress," he said.

The coach adds that the national team is going to need their experience.

"We need that because playing with Bafana is another level than the PSL. It's even on another level than Champions League so we need those players who have experience for very intense games,"

Broos says he and his technical team collect data on the overseas contingent every week and have noticed the likes of Luther Singh and Kobamelo Kodisang in Portugal.

"It's a lot of work, every Monday we look at what the players did and we find some players. For example, Singh a young left back in Portugal, we are monitoring him. Kodisang is also doing good," he added.

His 23-man squad announced on Thursday at the SABC included Siyanda Xulu, Luke Le Roux, Njabulo Blom, Spephelo Sithole, Mihlali Mayambela, Bongokuhle Hlongwane, Lyle Foster, and Percy Tau.

Broos insists that if this number goes up, then Bafana will be stronger.

"It's a lot of work but it's worth it because you can find better players than you currently have for a certain position. I hope we find better players because that means that the level of Bafana Bafana will really increase also," he concluded.
