The Black Caps beat Pakistan by 60 runs in the opening match of the competition while India beat Bangladesh by six wickets in their first encounter.

India then knocked over arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday to make it two wins from two in Group A.

On Monday, New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to field first before restricting the Tigers to a total of 236-9 in their 50 overs.

Chief destroyer for the Kiwis was spinner Michael Bracewell who returned figures of 4-26 in his 10 overs while seamer Will O'Rourke took 2-48.

Bangladesh will be kicking themselves after throwing away a good start with the bat when they found themselves 106-3 but suffered a collapse as only Najmul Hossain (77) and Jaker Ali (45) made notable contributions.

The Black Caps slipped to 15-2 in the run-chase with the early wickets of Will Young (0) and Kane Williamson (5) but Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra steadied the ship with a 57-run partnership.

Conway departed for 30 but Ravindra and Tom Latham then combined for match-winning 129-run stand that knocked the sails out the Tigers' fight.

Ravindra went on to reach his fourth ODI hundred and was eventually dismissed for 112 from 105 balls while the more circumspect Latham scored 55 off 76 deliveries.

Both batters fell with the target in sight but Glenn Phillips (21 not out) and Bracewell (11 not out) made sure New Zealand got over the line with 4.5 overs to spare.
