Grobler unfazed by SuperSport double assignment

SuperSport United veteran striker Bradley Grobler is not fazed by the double assignment of competing in both the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and the CAF Confederation Cup this season.

Matsatsantsa are considered title contenders having finished third in the previous campaign under coach Gavin Hunt.

Grobler’s main concern is depth, but he believes they can step up.

"We know we've got a hard season coming up, with the size of the squad we've got, with all the travelling. [But] we've worked hard, we've got a good base, everyone is just as excited to get playing", Grobler believes.

"I think there's excitement within the team and the club about going back to Africa. The last time we were there we did very well and we're looking forward to that again."

Despite his belief SuperSport still need more personnel, Grobler is impressed with the transfer market transactions.

"I don't think we made a lot, but I think the ones we've made, especially with [Siphesihle] Ndlovu and Grant [Margeman] becoming permanent with the club. I think that was a massive, massive acquisition for the club.

"And of course, Etiosa [Ighodaro] who did extremely well at Chippa [United]. He's still young, he's strong and he's big, I think he suits the way we play. And obviously, Terrence [ Dzvukamanja] was captured by the club and all credit to the club for getting a guy like that."

Grobler adds he looks forward to seeing ex-Orlando Pirates forward Dzvukamanja in action. And just as enthused about the young players from the academy.

"He's everything the club needs. His work ethic is second to none, which is a big thing for us at SuperSport. And obviously, his goal-scoring will help a lot.

"At the same time, something I'm quite excited about, and I think a lot of people in the club are excited about, is some of the youngsters that are coming through. A lot of people don't know them, but we've got some really really exciting young players coming through with the right attitude, the right work ethic and on top of that they are extremely good players."

SuperSport open their league campaign on Saturday against Richards Bay in our live game on SABC, a fixture Grobler says will set the tone.
