"We are very happy with the contributions of the entire technical team and when I said that it is only normal, it is only normal", said Mokwena.
Meanwhile, SABC Sport had it confirmed by Mnqithi’s agent that he is in the final six months of his contract and his future was up to Downs.
Mokwena used the Chelsea example to drive home his point that changes were imminent at the English Premier League outfit when a new coach was appointed earlier this season.
"Graham Potter took over from Thomas Tuchel, and they were changes. For sure there were changes. The previous coach of Mamelodi Sundowns left and went to a different club and there were changes, and technical changes.
So it's only normal this thing and sometimes it's blown out of proportion because it happens, maybe, a little bit in between in the periods where there's not a lot to talk about from a football perspective", Mokwena claimed.
According to SABC Sport’s records, Mokwena still has a contract at Chloorkop until June 2024 but says it’s management that will decide all their futures. He reiterates he will not be at Sundowns forever, as such is the nature of the business.
"The club is far more important than any individual and will outlive each and every one of us. It's too big an institution for - myself included - to think I am bigger than the club. I can only reiterate how happy we are to work with each and for each other and be at service for the football club", he concluded.
