Speaking to SABC Sport during the launch of the new sponsorship Plumtree says he’s impressed with the players’ willingness to grow.
"Really excited about the talent. Also, just their willingness to learn and grow. There's a lot of new stuff for them to learn with me coming back and Dave Williams coming back into the coaching as well, so we'll be challenging them in different parts of their game," Plumtree said.
"There are one or two new habits they have to create. So, just enjoy the preseason and by the end of the preseason hopefully we are ready to go."
The transformation of the Sharks under new leadership has seen them attracting top international players. However, they have failed to produce trophies, coach Plumtree understands the pressure and expectations, and asks for time.
"There is always expectation at a big club like the Sharks. There's a lot of fans that want us to do really well and we understand that.
However, I've just gotten back here. Looking at our culture, looking at our environment, looking at the way we do things, looking at where we need to change to get better and get better every day really.
So, there's a lot to look forward to in the future but right now we will take a little bit of time. I think people are gonna have to be patient. We'll get there but it does take a little bit of time."
