Hendrikse's stock continued to rise this season, as his exploits at the resurgent Lions earned him a Bok debut against Wales last month.
Now, the rising star is set to travel down the N3 to reunite with his brother Jaden, who features at scrumhalf for the Durban franchise. With the Lions' season effectively over, Hendrikse took to social media to bid farewell.
"My time at the Lions has come to an end," said the 23-year-old.
"I would like to thank everyone at the franchise who made an impact during my journey: from the coaches, office staff and the men and women behind the scenes who have made my stay memorable.
"To my teammates who've become my brothers, I wish you all the success as you represent the Lions with pride.
"And finally, to the Lions fans, thank you for all your support and words of encouragement during my time at Emirates Airline Park. It was truly special playing for you."
